I recently collaborated with another graphics student lily ray to produce these wedding invites for a friend. Who was very pleased with our result. i am currently looking to have these printed double sided or other options if available.

        

I am currently working on a D&Ad brief for the 2013 student awards. i chose this brief because the creative challenge was extremely flexible and positive. the creative challenge is to create a positive social or environmental impact utilising the power of a unilever brand. an i chose lipton as it is nice, fun and vibrant, with a strap line drink positive it already relates to my brief also there are strict guidelines as to positioning of logo and what is acceptable etc this may be a bit restricting but i know exactly what they see as right and acceptable and work my design around this. i am currently working on my visuals this week and next and i will be uploading them once my work has been assessed.

As well as my Fd Graphics i decided it would be a good idea to take part in a one month short course of one day a week 10-5 on lectures starting from writing a business plan, types of research we should be using to gain certain benefits and why, presenting to a client, licenses & insurance's for the company/business, tax/vat. and i have notes and handouts i have collected from attending each time. and also have found a useful contacts and learned a lot from this course and i have always wanted to work for myself one day, or aiming to a higher position in the work place. this course has also helped me as i have learnt about copyright laws and how to protect my work.

On my course i have just finished a five week module digital applications. I produced this work booklet in indesign compiling my notes with screenshots and annotations to show my work throughout the month but this also doubles up as a guide that covers the basics in photoshop and illustrator. so if i am stuck in the future need an idea or have forgot what to do i have this to refer to as a prompt.

Live breif/ work experience/ final piece

In my latest project i was given the opportunity to be self directed, i work as a free lance graffiti artist as well as a graphic designer, about two weeks before i was given the project i was contacted by sns service and repair garage. they wanted their dim plain shutter revamped advertising there business as best as possible. i came up with this big bold easy to read and eye catching piece that will be bright and vibrant to draw in as much attention as possible. i related this to my studies by relating this to typography following the terminology best i can whilst still producing a piece of graff.  unfortunately i have not been able to follow up by painting the piece due to weather conditions as this would effect my work as i have stated and explained in my work booklet. but this has gave me more than enough time to plan and price and i will be continuing the job in spring. in the mean time i have been working indoors producing murals for friends and clients.

This project i have really worked at putting my research into a more professional and presentable manor . i am very happy with the booklet i produced and developed, i was pleased withe the titles colour scheme and composition gave my work the right look i was aiming for, also i have know started digitally storing my research on pintrest and i find this to be a quicker and easier way to do this as i am putting together pin boards rather than pages. after i had pieced together my book i then had this bound and it looks a lot better than how i was working before and i will choose to work this way again and develop this further and look further into editorial broadening my area of skills.

First project back is to design shipping packaging for Mr Porter. my idea was to create a design that would be used again and made out of good strong materials no half measures as this reflects Mr Porter brand. This flat pack box i have created is held together by push studs so it can be put up or took down when it is needed also when folded down it can be stored in the lid.the third image down is the inside to the box in my design this is made out of a material cusioning the inside of the box and on the right hand side inside the lid i have created a pocket to hold the documents folder shown below. I would of really liked to make this box and have the finished product for my own use but due to time and expense i cant. i am pleased with my overall design i feel that it is something that would work well and look very presentable if i could add something to this i think it would be a tissue paper with a print to wrap the items inside the box, i feel that would really finish this idea off.
